I Siberian Forum of folklorists took place on 7–11 November 2016 in the city of Novosibirsk, Russia. The forum was attended by folklorists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Italy. The forum program included: research reports, video conference, presentation of electronic resources on folklore, concert of folk music (folklore of Siberia natives and immigrants), master classes on Yakut osuokhay and Russian quadrille, Vyechorka, a demonstration of ethnological films (Yukagirs, South Siberia Turks, Russian Cossacks in China), the film about the folklorists of Novosibirsk, as well as book Fair and the meeting of the editorial board of the academic series «Monuments of folklore of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East». The participants discussed the following topics: the problem of systematization, publication and preservation of folklore, information technology in folkloristics; epic traditions in folk culture; specifics of folklore genres; folklore in the context of the ritual; etnomusicological study of folk cultures of Siberia and the Far East; religious ideas in folk culture; folklore of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East in the ethnographic and socio-historical aspects. On the I Siberian forum of folklorists a new stage of development of the Siberian folkloristics was shown.
